SimulMaroc came out of an ordinary annoyance: looking up how much it costs to clear a car through customs in Morocco and finding, page after page, nothing but contradictory estimates, forum posts from 2016 and articles copying out expired rate scales without ever citing a source.
The same problem repeats itself across almost every Moroccan administrative subject. The official information exists, but it is buried in PDFs that are hard to read. Between the text of the law and the real question – “how much am I going to pay, and what do I need to bring to the counter?” – a translation is missing.
What this site does
Two things, and nothing else.
Tools that actually calculate. Not static tables you have to interpret yourself, but calculators that take your situation and produce an amount broken down line by line, with the date and source of the rate scale used.
Guides in the format people are looking for. Documents required, cost, real processing time, where to go, what goes wrong. The kind of page you photograph and send to the family group chat.
Who it is for
For residents in Morocco, checking a salary, a vignette or the documents for a CNIE application.
And for the five million Moroccans who live elsewhere, whose questions are more complex – two administrations, two tax systems, short stays in which everything has to happen in sequence – and for whom almost nobody builds anything serious.
French was the first language chosen, because it is the language in which these questions get asked on both sides of the Mediterranean. The site also exists in Arabic and in English: every page is translated in full, with the same rate scales and the same sources.
Our commitments
Cite the sources. Every rate points back to an identified official text, listed on the methodology page.
Date the figures. The date last checked appears at the top of every page. An undated figure is worth nothing.
Update every year. Each Finance Act triggers a complete review of the rate scales. It is the most demanding commitment and the most useful.
Say what we do not know. Where an amount depends on an administrative assessment, we say so instead of inventing a precision that does not exist.
Record nothing. The calculators run entirely in your browser. No amount you enter is sent to a server.
How the site is funded
By the advertising displayed around the content. That is what keeps the tools free and free of sign-up.
Advertisers have no say over the figures published, and no content on this site is sponsored. If a commercial partnership were ever to exist, it would be disclosed explicitly on the page concerned.
